Scott Greene is the co-leader of the firm's Litigation services group, which includes teams of attorneys and professionals specializing in Bankruptcy & Corporate Reorganization, Business Litigation & Arbitration, Intellectual Property, Securities and Torts. Mr. Greene's concentration is dispute avoidance and dispute resolution. He has considerable experience as lead counsel in litigation, arbitration and mediation. Since 1996, Mr. Greene has served actively as a commercial arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association. He has served as sole arbitrator or chair of panels in over forty commercial disputes.
In recent years, Mr. Greene has represented leading companies in industries such as energy, aviation, real estate development, banking, construction and industrial equipment. He represented a prominent law firm in a partnership dispute. The business disputes in these industries have ranged from claims of breach, default and fraud to issues of lender liability and products liability.
Mr. Greene is a frequent speaker at seminars for the State Bar of Georgia, corporate legal departments and industry groups. For the past several years, he has taught a two day Trial Evidence program for the Georgia Bar
Significant Representative Matters:
- Electric Energy Requirements Contract - Represented major U.S. energy company in three separate arbitration cases over seven years concerning a variety of issues arising from the largest power marketing contract in the energy industry.
- Boiler, Scrubber and Related Equipment and Services - Serves as litigation coordinating counsel for family of nine companies related to their global business.
- Residential Development - Serves as litigation coordinating counsel in Georgia for one national homebuilding company and one Georgia-based homebuilding company.
- Charter Airline Contracts - Represents major cargo and passenger charter airline in its contract litigation and arbitration.
- Industrial Equipment Litigation - Serves as Georgia counsel for leading manufacturer of industrial equipment.
- Energy Asset Development and Sale - Handled arbitration and litigation matters in various contract disputes.
- Generators for Iraq - Represented global solutions company in federal court over supply of refurbished generators to post-war Iraq.
