Michael Chanin's practice encompasses a broad range of business matters, often with governmental implications. Mr. Chanin has served as a principal outside counsel for several trade associations where he advises on governance, structural and antitrust issues, business contracts, election and lobbying law, intellectual property and government relations. His colleagues advise on tax, benefit and human resources issues and represent trade associations in litigation. Mr. Chanin has assisted in the structuring and operation of standards development organizations.
In the corporate area, Mr. Chanin is particularly involved in representing technology and biotechnology companies, both established and development stage entities. He advises on and helps implement acquisition, financing and business strategies, including public and private financing, joint ventures, and mergers and acquisitions. He has advised entities on their relations with the US government.
From 1978 to 1981, he served as Deputy Assistant to the President of the United States.
