Jay Levin is the leader of the firm's Real Estate Finance & Development services group, which includes teams of attorneys and professionals specializing in Commercial Real Estate, Commercial Finance and Public Law & Finance. Mr. Levin concentrates in corporate finance, banking and real estate law. He has represented institutional lenders (including domestic and foreign banks), credit enhancers, syndicators, public and private partnerships, developers, business corporations and underwriters in the corporate, real estate, banking and financial services areas.
Mr. Levin has been responsible for matters involving the financing, refinancing and development of hotels, office buildings, corporate headquarters, industrial projects, computer facilities, health care properties, apartment complexes, condominium projects, retail and entertainment facilities, mixed-use projects and other commercial real estate. He has also represented government agencies such as the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA), Georgia World Congress Center Authority, City of Atlanta, Georgia Technology Authority and Atlanta Public Schools in a wide range of matters pertaining to the financing, development, construction, sale, purchase and lease of real estate.
Mr. Levin's practice encompasses commercial real estate finance and development (both tax exempt and taxable), commercial leasing, project finance, corporate acquisitions and borrowing, debt and equity securities offerings, major sale/leaseback transactions, securitized and credit-enhanced financings, securities repurchase transactions, FHA-insured mortgage lending and construction contract matters. He has represented originating lenders with respect to the closing of multifamily loans for securitization conduits and the negotiation of mortgage loan purchase and underwriting agreements. In addition, he advises clients on mortgage lender licensing and regulatory matters under federal and all state laws.
