Adwoa Ghartey-Tagoe Seymour is an associate with the Firm's Litigation practice group. Ms. Seymour is also a mediator registered with the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution. She currently represents companies and manufacturers in products liability litigation, business tort and contract disputes, insurance disputes, tortious bad faith litigation, and ERISA fiduciary disputes. Ms. Seymour uses her ADR and litigation skills to represent companies both in state and federal courts and in ADR proceedings.
Ms. Seymour's representative experience includes:
- Representing two corporate defendants in premises liability action pending in Superior Court, which successfully ended in the dismissal of one defendant
- Representing a healthcare company in federal litigation involving COBRA claims and ERISA fiduciary disputes
- Representing a banking client in arbitration pending before the National Arbitration Forum in a breach of contract dispute
- Advising an insurance client on the prevention and defense of tortious bad faith claims
- Successfully argued a motion to dismiss or compel arbitration in the Superior Court of Fulton County resulting in a complete dismissal of credit card consumer's claim for an invasion of privacy against a banking client
Ms. Seymour is active in the Firm and the community. At the firm level Ms. Seymour serves on a variety of committees, including the Diversity and Associates Committees. In the community she has demonstrated her strong passion for child advocacy by representing children in truancy proceedings in Fulton County Juvenile Court through the Truancy Intervention Project. She serves on the Board of the Georgia Afterschool Investment Council, an organization dedicated to ensuring Georgia's youth have access to high quality, affordable after school and summer learning opportunities. Ms. Seymour also serves in a leadership capacity over her church's youth ministry.
