Don Nelms represents lenders and borrowers in a variety of financing transactions. He has extensive experience representing lenders in an assortment of secured and unsecured loan transactions in the real estate and timber industries, including revolving loans, term loans, asset based loans and mezzanine transactions. He has been agent counsel on a number of large syndicated real estate loans.

Prior to joining Powell Goldstein, Mr. Nelms was a member of a major regional law firm in eastern North Carolina representing corporate, financial institution and healthcare clients. He also has been president of a manufacturing company in North Carolina.

Mr. Nelms has been a member of two other Atlanta law firms, where he practiced in the areas of secured lending, banking and commercial real estate.

Mr. Nelms has been selected for the 2007 and 2008 editions of The Best Lawyers in America for Corporate Law.
