Colin Uckert focuses his practice on commercial real estate transactions with a particular emphasis in representing lenders and servicers in connection with real estate secured loans, including workouts and foreclosures. He has extensive experience documenting and closing commercial and multifamily mortgage loans throughout the country and advising clients regarding the origination, sale and servicing of mortgage loans (including pools of loans) involving commercial mortgage-backed securities, traditional financing sources, mezzanine debt and the use of low income housing tax credits and new markets tax credits. He also represents developers and owners of commercial and residential real estate in acquisition, development, construction and disposition matters.

Mr. Uckert is a frequent lecturer on advanced real estate practice issues, such as financing techniques, mortgage and deed of trust enforcement actions and loan workouts and restructures, including several Virginia continuing legal education seminars for the National Business Institute. Mr. Uckert is a contributing author to the practitioner's reference book, "Real Estate Practice in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia" and is a former member of the editorial/review board of the DC Bar Practice Manual.
