Eric P. Schroeder is a trial and appellate litigator specializing in media, speech, unfair competition, intellectual property and commercial litigation issues. In addition, he is Chair of the Firm's Appellate Practice.

Mr. Schroeder has over a decade of experience in First Amendment, defamation, privacy, copyright, false advertising, trademark and unfair competition issues affecting media, business and high-profile individuals. He has advised and represented media, healthcare, manufacturer and financial institutions, state agencies and individuals in a number of major class action, libel, trademark, campaign speech, false advertising, antitrust, constitutional, RICO, commercial and other litigation matters. He specializes in "crisis management" representations and large cases which require balancing litigation needs and goals with the realities of media coverage and the public perception of businesses and individuals.

Mr. Schroeder has represented numerous clients in federal district courts, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals and Georgia appellate courts, and lectures and writes frequently on media law, false advertising, unfair competition, judicial campaign speech and appellate issues. He has filed amicus curiae briefs addressing First Amendment, tort reform and other constitutional matters in appellate courts on behalf of Cable News Network; Gannett Co. Inc.; the Anti-Defamation League; BellSouth; UPS; Georgia Power; Home Depot; and the Georgia Chamber of Commerce.

Before joining Powell Goldstein, Mr. Schroeder clerked with the Honorable William C. O'Kelley, United States District Court, in the Northern District of Georgia.
