Jay Patton is a Partner in the Firm's Tort Litigation & Environmental Practice. Mr. Patton's practice includes representing clients in general commercial disputes and defending clients in product liability and commercial tort claims. Mr. Patton has broad experience in defending and prosecuting breach of warranty, breach of contract, fraud, RICO, insurance bad faith and personal injury claims. Mr. Patton also has extensive experience defending clients in complex class actions involving these issues.

Mr. Patton earned his J.D. from the University of Georgia Law School, cum laude, in 1996. He received his undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Oswego, cum laude, in 1993. Following law school, Mr. Patton served as a judicial clerk for the Honorable Joseph Gaines, the Honorable Lawton Stephens and the Honorable Steve Jones in Georgia's Western Judicial Circuit.

Mr. Patton is active in the Atlanta community and was a 2005 co-recipient of Powell Goldstein's Pro-Bono Associate of the Year award for his work with the Grady High School Mock Trial Team.
