Carol D. Newman is a retired partner with Powell Goldstein, where she was a member of the Business & Finance team and the firm's Director of Corporate/Transactional Training. Ms. Newman currently teaches a course on Deal Skills at Emory Law School.
In her practice, Ms. Newman focused on corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, corporate compliance and general corporate and business law. Her mergers and acquisition practice included negotiated business acquisitions and financing for both public and privately owned companies.
In addition to her transactional experience, Ms. Newman participated in a variety of representations involving general business law advice regarding such matters as corporate compliance assessments and reviews; contract management programs; formation of business entities and shareholder, partnership and limited liability company matters; and logistics issues involving supply chains and distribution of products. Representative clients included a variety of business entities engaging in the manufacturing, logistics, restaurant, service and technology industries.
Ms. Newman is the Immediate Past President of ACG Atlanta (Association for Corporate Growth, Atlanta Chapter). She also serves on the Boards of ACG Atlanta, the Atlanta Women's Foundation, the Board of Directors Network and the Women's Finance Exchange.
