Walt Moeling co-chairs Powell Goldstein's Financial Institutions practice group. He graduated from Duke University with a degree in History in 1965 and a Law degree in 1968. He is married with two children and four grandchildren.
The Powell Goldstein Financial Institutions Group represents hundreds of community banks throughout the United States. It is annually a national leader in merger and acquisition transactions, de novo bank formations, going private transactions and public and private capital issuance for community banks.
Mr. Moeling regularly counsels clients on corporate governance matters, on operational and regulatory issues faced by financial institutions, on capital and acquisition strategies, on strategies for dealing with regulatory issues, Board disputes and dissident shareholders.
Mr. Moeling is a frequent speaker on banking topics throughout the United States, and his comments are regularly covered in the banking and general business press. He is also a regular contributor to banking periodicals.
Mr. Moeling has been selected for the 2006, 2007 and 2008 editions of The Best Lawyers in America for Banking Law, Corporate and Financial Institutions Law and Mergers & Acquisitions Law. Additionally, he has been recognized by Atlanta Magazine as a 2007 and 2008 Georgia Superlawyer.
