William J. Linkous, Jr. concentrates in fiduciary law, tax and estate planning. He is a member of the Firm's fiduciary litigation group. He has had extensive experience in will contests, will and trust construction and reformation cases, fiduciary litigation and legal malpractice and other types of fiduciary litigation. He has successfully argued a number of important fiduciary law cases in the Georgia Supreme Court and the Georgia Court of Appeals. He acts as an expert witness and guardian ad litem in these areas and as a mediator in alternative dispute resolution. Mr. Linkous is a frequent lecturer on fiduciary and tax legislation and fiduciary litigation.
He was Chairman of the Georgia Probate Code Revision Committee, which produced legislation resulting in the Revised 1998 Probate Code.
Mr. Linkous was Chairman of the Georgia Guardianship Code Revision Committee, which produced legislation resulting in the 2005 Guardian and Ward Code. He is presently Chairman of the Georgia Trust Law Revision Committee, which has produced a complete revision of Georgia trust law in 2009.
Mr. Linkous has been selected for the eleventh consecutive year for inclusion in the 2008 edition of Best Lawyers in America for Trusts and Estates. He has also been recognized by Atlanta Magazine as a 2007 and 2008 Georgia Superlawyer. Additionally, Mr. Linkous recently received the State Bar of Georgia Certificate of Accomplishment commemorating the completion of more than Fifty Years of Service. |
