Armin Brecher joined Powell Goldstein in 1969, became partner in 1975, served as Chair of the Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation Practice Group from 1976 to 2001, served on the Board of Partners from 1992 through February 2004, and served as Chair of the Executive Committee and the Board of Partners from 1998 through February 2004.

Mr. Brecher's representative experience extends to:

  • Practicing in employee benefits and executive compensation (with emphasis in merger, acquisition and leveraged buy-out and spin-off transactions involving employee benefit plans, executive compensation programs and employee stock ownership plans), defined benefit plans, executive compensation issues and multi-employer plans
  • Handling employee benefits regulatory matters, including the design and preparation of executive compensation agreements, and welfare, pension and profit sharing plans including related labor, tax, securities and other compliance issues
  • ERISA litigation matters
  • Acting as a mediator or arbitrator of executive compensation disputes, including as a neutral
  • Serving as Special Counsel to a number of companies on transactional or compliance matters, particularly as related to employee benefit plans and executive compensation issues
  • Frequently speaking and serving as a seminar panelist on such topics as nonqualified deferred compensation, use and misuse of ESOP's in corporate transactions, ESOP's as a takeover defense, employee benefits plans as a corporate financing technique and executive compensation issues
