Ms. Isabel concentrates her practice in the areas of wills, trusts and administration of estates. She also focuses on fiduciary litigation, tax-exempt entities (including public charities, private foundations and business leagues), as well as estate, gift and generation-skipping transfer tax, business succession planning and tax controversies.
In addition, Ms. Isabel's representative experience includes:

Serving as a lead for a pro bono project in partnership with Atlanta Legal Aid and the American Cancer Society for low-income individuals battling cancer.

Representation of a corporate fiduciary in a declaratory judgment action in probate court involving interpretation of a change in beneficiary form.

Representation of a client and company worth approximately $1 billion with trust interpretation, estate planning and business succession planning.

Winning an appeal before the Georgia Court of Appeals for a corporate fiduciary in a trust dispute that resulted in the return of approximately $1 million to the beneficiary.

Representation of a large public charity regarding planned giving issues.

Advising a high profile, nonprofit hospital regarding reorganization to avoid insolvency.

Advising a private college on governance issues.

Regularly advising a large corporate foundation regarding issues related to private foundation status.
Ms. Isabel was recently recognized at the 2008 Daily Report Pro Bono Awards ceremony for her outstanding pro bono efforts where she recieved the Advocate for the Voiceless award. |
