Ms. Dougan serves as the Firm's Chief Professional Development Officer. In her role, she oversees the recruitment, orientation, integration, evaluation, training and mentoring of attorneys, as well as the Firm's diversity and pro bono initiatives.
Ms. Dougan was most recently a Shareholder and Assistant General Counsel at Greenberg Traurig, LLP. During her time there, she advised employers throughout the country on developing policies and programs to address domestic violence and its effects in the workplace. She also founded and directed the Greenberg Traurig/Florida Coalition Against Domestic Violence Alliance for Battered Women, which provided statewide legal support and technical assistance to advocates, attorneys, judges, policy makers and battered women. Prior to joining Greenberg Traurig in 1996, she spent four years with the Public Defender's office in Broward County, Florida.
Ms. Dougan is a nationally recognized expert in the area of domestic violence in the workplace and has written and spoken extensively on the topic. She has also received several awards and has been recognized many times for her outstanding contributions to the community, her workplace and her family. In 2004 she was honored with Miami-Dade Parks & Recreation Department's In the Company of Women award. In 2002 she was chosen as one of Burdines' sixteen Florida's Favorite Moms, which recognizes mothers who have shown tremendous commitment to community service and to family. Additionally, Ms. Dougan was awarded the 2001 Women Who Make a Difference Award which is sponsored by the University of Miami Law Women's group.
