Darryl Drevna is a proficient writer with a wide understanding of health care issues, policy and regulatory and legislative processes. Prior to joining Powell Goldstein LLP, Mr. Drevna served at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services in Washington, DC. His responsibilities included writing and editing written and oral congressional testimony for senior CMS leadership under tight deadlines and preparing, editing and compiling briefing materials for agency witnesses. Additionally, he coordinated Agency, Department, and White House clearance processes and assisted in briefing congressional staff on CMS policies.
In the past he has been responsible for assigning and editing health care policy stories for multiple daily publications. He served as the senior writer for American HealthLine and the Kaiser Daily Health Policy Report, specializing in coverage of Medicare, Medicaid and health policy issues.
Mr. Drevna has received several honors for his work. For example, in 2005, he received the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Administrator's Citation in recognition for his work in educating congressional staff on the Medicare prescription drug benefit as part of the Agency's Congressional Outreach Team.
