The complaint, filed by Powell Goldstein partner Ryan T. Pumpian and associate John C. Bush for Trans World, actually says the company filed for trademark protection in April 2004 as the result of a typographical error; protection for the mark was sought this year, said Pumpian.
Pumpian said he was uncertain whether the new magazine's founders were aware that the new Atlanta Business section was in the works for Business to Business.
He also expressed doubts about the veracity of an advertising rate sheet for potential clients distributed by the new publishers. A purported copy of the sheet is attached to the suit and appears to claim that the company has been publishing since December, when its founders were still Leader employees.
