American Banker today announced that Powell, Goldstein, Frazer & Murphy LLP is one of the nation's five leading legal advisors in domestic bank and thrift merger deals announced in the first half of 2002.

During the first six months of 2002 Powell Goldstein concluded four merger deals in this sector valued at over $437 million. The other top four firms noted in the announcement are Skadden Arps, Wachtell, Godfrey & Kahn and Armstrong Teasdale.
