Along with Breakfast, PoGo to Serve up Tips on Gathering Information - Demko, Galanek, Hernacki, Lantta & Schroeder featured
November 13, 2006
Powell Goldstein will be serving in-house lawyers hot tips for gathering information along with steaming coffee and bacon during the firm's monthly breakfast briefing Nov. 13 at Maggiano's Little Italy in Buckhead.
"When you get involved in litigation, there are overlooked ways of either defending yourself, or going on the offensive by gathering information," said Christopher P. Galanek, who will serve as moderator for a panel.
Galanek is a Powell Goldstein partner who concentrates his practice on complex commercial litigation and arbitration with emphasis on litigating partnership and commercial contract disputes and matters involving breaches of fiduciary duty.
The panel will also include: Eric P. Schroeder, a partner and trial and appellate litigator for media, health care and intellectual property issues; Luke A. Lantta, a general commercial litigator with who works on fiduciary matters and trusts and estates; Katherine Hernacki, who concentrates her practice in civil litigation, tort and business matters for both plaintiffs and defendants; and Christopher H. Demko, who focuses on energy litigation, real estate, contract disputes and business torts. Hernacki will show how the Freedom of Information Act can be used to gather information in preparation for litigation. Lantta will look at how to strip away the anonymous cover of Internet postings.
