Washington, DC - Powell, Goldstein, Frazer & Murphy LLP is pleased to announce that Andrew P. Miller, former Attorney General of Virginia and founder of the Government Relations practice at Dickstein Shapiro Morin & Oshinsky LLP, has joined the Firm's Government Relations practice as Of Counsel.

Mr. Miller represents corporations that are faced with challenges by States in the administrative, legislative, and/or regulatory arenas. His clients include electric utilities, financial service organizations, media companies and telemarketers, as well as trade associations and other organizations advocating business initiatives. Mr. Miller is actively engaged with members of the National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG) and the Conference of Western Attorneys General (CWAG) on behalf of his clientele.

Prior to joining Powell Goldstein, Mr. Miller formed the Government Relations practice of Dickstein Shapiro Morin & Oshinsky LLP. As partner since 1979, he focused his practice on government affairs and related litigation. This practice has involved the representation of forensic technology companies, gaming enterprises, health care organizations, legal service providers, post-secondary educational enterprises, railroads, sweepstakes operators and telecommunications firms. In addition, he has served as counsel for many States of the United States.

Mr. Miller previously served as Attorney General of Virginia. In that capacity, he was selected as Chairman of the Southern Conference of Attorneys General, Chairman of NAAG's Antitrust Committee, and Member of NAAG's Executive Committee. In 1987, Mr. Miller established the John Marshall Foundation and acted as its first President. The John Marshall Foundation restored and maintains the former Chief Justice's residence and encourages the study of Marshall's constitutional legacy. Mr. Miller also has served as a Member of the Board of Corrections of the Commonwealth of Virginia, a director of the Washington/Baltimore Regional Association and is currently a trustee of the Greater Washington Initiative.
