Community Development

Investment in urban areas and blighted communities is a catalyst to achieving the American dream. Nonetheless, the journey toward that dream often requires successful navigation through various legal issues. As a result, real estate law plays an increasingly important role as community development entities work to create economically viable environments in which all stakeholders can live and work.

Powell Goldstein's real estate practice prides itself on its commitment to our communities and to our clients who seek to add value to the community fabric. State and local authorities, financial institutions, equity investors, developers and other organizations go to PoGo for the breadth and depth of our community development legal expertise.  We represent institutions in connection with the conversion of obsolete or abandoned multi-family developments into modern, affordable rental projects. We assist acquirers of historic tax credits in connection with urban redevelopment.
