The real estate joint venture and equity investment area, in which high net worth individuals, pension funds, real estate investment funds, financial institutions and other investors invest in project joint ventures with development firms, is an important and significant part of our real estate and tax practices. We have assisted developers and investors in meeting their business and tax objectives in connection with the joint venture acquisition, development and ownership of office buildings, corporate business parks, shopping malls, multi-family and single-family residential developments, mixed-use projects and hotels. Our experience includes conventional joint venture structures, such as limited liability companies and limited partnerships, as well as more complex joint venture arrangements, such as participating ground leases, participating development/management agreements and tenancy-in-common agreements.
