Global Sustainability is more than just an idea. It is rapidly becoming a way of life for many businesses and individuals. Powell Goldstein believes that operating from a global sustainability perspective provides a pathway to success for those that implement their initiatives effectively and are aware of changes that may affect their business in this constantly changing environment. Our Sustainability group works with clients on diverse issues that often lead to changes in production and consumption - sustaining business while protecting natural resources. We take an innovative approach to keeping clients apprised of the legal and regulatory developments, opportunities and risks in the area of global sustainability.

Powell Goldstein's Sustainability group is a multidisciplinary and integrated team of professionals that addresses clients' sustainability needs based on their areas of expertise which include Real Estate Finance and Development, Timber and Forestry, Environmental, Corporate, Government Relations and Legislative Analysis and Tax. We work in tandem with the firm's Climate Strategies & Insights practice to advise businesses on a number of key issues, including carbon trading and credits and related financing, energy tax credits, environmental policy and legislation, international negotiations post-Kyoto, zoning, sustainable building (e.g., LEED) certifications and requirements and related matters. As a firm, Powell Goldstein is working towards becoming a more sustainable organization by encouraging recycling and commuting alternatives, in addition to participating in pro bono and area service projects that contribute to the sustainability of our local communities.
