As the health care market tightens, Medicaid is an ever more important payer for many providers of health care services. For certain safety net providers, Medicaid is the primary payer.
The Firm's health care practice has extensive experience in working with provider associations at the national level and individual providers and provider associations at the state level to influence Medicaid provider payment policies. This is particularly true with regard to Medicaid-specific methods of reimbursement, such as disproportionate share hospital payments, federally qualified health center reimbursement and payments using the Medicaid upper payment limits. In addition, the Firm has produced extensive comments on Medicaid regulatory matters for clients and has extensive interaction with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS-formerly HCFA) and other federal policymakers on Medicaid issues.
